Communication involves how we express our thoughts, ideas, and feelings to others, including what we say and how we say it. This is especially so in important relationships. Without communication all sorts of trouble spots form. Assumptions develop, hurt feelings happen, expectations and perceptions are brought to the surface and misunderstandings are certainly likely to occur. If we can not communicate our wishes, wants, desires, goals... how will the other person ever really know what is really on your mind ?
Commitment is to pledge yourself to a certain purpose or relationship. Without commitment, you do not give yourself wholly. Commitment is really all about making a decision, one way or another about something and sticking to it. By refusing to commit, what you are really doing is showing fear...fear of rejection, fear of not being successful, fear of loosing your freedom etc etc.
Compromise is a concept of finding agreement through communication and commitment. Through a mutual acceptance of terms—it may involve variations from your original goal or desire, but through negotiating neither side gets all of what they really want, but they each make concessions in order to reach an agreement that is acceptable to both.
If you can communicate about your real wants and needs, are committed; then a win-win solution can often be found that will provide what both sides want without compromise, but if needed, realize compromise is something you need to be willing to do.
In life, many thoughts are born in the course of a moment, an hour, a day. Some are dreams, some visions. Often, we are unable to distinguish between them. To some, they are the same; however, not all dreams are visions. Much energy is lost in fanciful dreams that never bear fruit. But visions are messages from the Great Spirit, each for a different purpose in life. Consequently, one person's vision may not be that of another. To have a vision, one must be prepared to receive it, and when it comes, to accept it. Thus when these inner urges become reality, only then can visions be fulfilled. The spiritual side of life knows everyone's heart and who to trust. How could a vision ever be given to someone to harbor if that person could not be trusted to carry it out. The message is simple: commitment precedes vision. ~High Eagle
