This is your chance to observe the best in short films via Viral Videos. Presented at the Dolby Screening Room located at 1350 Avenue of the Americas. The web is definitely not short of these videos. You can see that viral videos have become the alternative way to market yourself, your product or your business and is spreading like wild fire.

The Golden Compass: Is This Atheism For Kids?

With the new movie The Golden Compass hitting the theaters, many parents will be taking their children to see the movie.
I do not have any young ones and this type of movie doesn't interest me, but after a friend of mine sent me a review of this movie, it got my attention.

The movie has been described as "atheism for kids" and is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled "His Dark Materials" written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despises C. S. Lewis and the "Chronicles of Narnia." His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis' symbolisms of Christ portrayed in the Narnia series.

Both the book and the movie introduce atheism to children. The story ends with Adam and Eve killing God

Clearly, Pullman's main objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview, "my books are about killing God." He has even stated that he wants "to kill God in the minds of children." It has been said of Pullman that he is "the writer the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed."

While "The Golden Compass" movie itself may seem mild and innocent, the books are a much different story. In the trilogy, a young streetwise girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle to ultimately defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God. Another character, an ex- nun, describes Christianity as "a very powerful and convincing mistake." In the final book, characters representing Adam and Eve eventually kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH. Each book in the trilogy gets progressively worse regarding Pullman's hatred of Jesus Christ.

Hmmm...and this movie premiered in December. A coincidence?

Do You and Sweeney Todd Have Revenge in Common?

I just came across a promo for the new Tim Burton film, Sweeney Todd which opens on December 21st.

This movie is a Thriller about a man who is unjustly sent to prison and vows to seek revenge for not only the cruel punishment he received, but for what happened to his wife and daughter.

When out of prison, he returns to become the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Men seem to disappear after having their heads shaved at the Barber Shop. Apparently Sweeney Todd didn't forget or forgive, huh?

Are you a Fan of Stephen King?

Three of my favorites are:

Shawshank Redemption... the tale of unjust imprisonment and the clever escape. I must have watched this movie at least 10 times.

The Green Mile..The story about the lives of guards on death row leading up to the execution of a wrongly accused man who has the power of faith healing.

(Did you even know that he wrote these?)

Carrie...a misfit high school girl having telekinetic powers. Her classmates made her the butt of the jokes, her mom was overpowering, but all she wanted to do was fit in. As she tried not being the odd one , her classmates made that impossible for her and played terrible jokes on her. Until one day, at her senior prom, she turned her power into horror and destruction.

Reading or watching Stephen King's movies never leave you unsatisfied. He accomplishes keeping you glued by including action, intrigue, adventure, and suspense!

If you are a fan, you must know that his new movie The Mist by Stephen King will be released on November 21st.

A brief synopsis: A man and his young son along with a group of terrified townspeople are trapped in a grocery store by a strange mist. Things are lurking in the mist...deadly, horrifying. Creatures not of this world. Survival in the store depend on everyone pulling together. But does human nature make that possible? The man starts to wonder what terrifies him more: the monsters in the mist or the people in the store. The people that have been his friends and neighbors. Civilization is stripped away, masks are discarded and the horror is revealed.

Hmmmm...this one sounds like another winner. Watch the movie trailer
