Accept Your Flaws

How many times have you talked to yourself about a 'flaw' that you do not like about yourself or maybe even about another person? Does your 'flaw' make you feel less beautiful? Have you wished you can change this flaw and if you could, you just know it would make you feel better?

Accept your flaws. Turn your negative thoughts into positive ones. You'd be surprised how your attitude will change. Love yourself always.

Below is an inspirational story I wanted to share. Hope you like it.

************

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water..

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do ha lf of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.

I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 CUPS OF COFFEE

Some of you may have already read this inspirational story, but it is one of my favorites. Someone had emailed it to me again and I took that as I 'reminder'.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 Hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

and the story goes....

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large
and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it in to the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the Empty space between the sand.. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that
this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health,
friends, and favorite passions -- things that if everything else was lost
and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,
"there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

"Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked".

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

My Bucket List

Back in December, I wrote a post about Making New Year Resolutions. Right before New Year's Eve I guess we all in one way or another reflect on the past year and decide what we what to change in the coming new year.

The year 2008 opened my eyes to many things, especially after being very ill. Overcoming illness made it feel like I had another chance. So...instead of saying...'one day'...or 'someday', I want 2009 to be 'the year' to do many things.

After watching the movie, The Bucket List, I decided I wanted 2009 to be more about me. I don't mean in a selfish way. That's not me at all. I only mean that I want to accomplish things on my to-do list, do things I have always wanted, but haven't or buy something I want, but always put off or do the home improvement job that I never seem to get around to do. Before I leave this earth there are things that need to be done.

Some things on My Bucket List:

1. Get the two tattoos I've always wanted. Ok, so I did get one and I love it!
2. Go on an airplane. Can you believe at 50 yrs young, I have never flown?!
3. Connect with my soul mate
4. Go on a vacation by plane
5. Swim with dolphins
6. Ride horseback along a beach with the one I love. This has been a dream of mine since childhood.
7. See something magnificent that takes my breath away
8. Be the best person I can be
9. Get involved with an organization that makes a difference
10. Become a member of Habitat for Humanity and help build a house for someone who is in need
11. Install my new kitchen floor. I have wanted a new kitchen floor for over 5 yrs.
12. Get my motorcycle permit and license
13. Buy my own Harley. I don't always want to be the passenger on the back.
14. Ride for a cause

I have to say, I am off to a good start and I feel great. I did get my first tattoo and just have to make the appointment to get my second one. I have connected with my soul mate and we booked our vacation to Mexico for March. So that takes care of #1,2,3 and 4. Hopefully while in Mexico, I can fulfill #'s 5,6, and 7.
#8 is in on going process and I feel while becoming more spiritual, my faith is stronger and I am a good person.
#'s 9 and 10 will hopefully be accomplished when the weather becomes warmer.
#11 will be completed this year
#12 will happen in April when I sign up for my Safety Riding Class
#13 realistically, might take me a bit longer as will #14 because I need to feel confidant on a motorcycle before I can ride for a distance.

I am sure I may add to my bucket list as time goes on, but it feels good to know I am finally doing the things I have always dreamed about, always thought...one day.

Do you have a Bucket List of your own?

I also think this helps with goal setting. Writing it down and just saying to myself...I CAN DO IT! Wanting it bad enough to accomplish what was always in the back of my mind.

Review of Free Tele-Seminar ~ Call 1

My previous post, entitled: FREE Tele Seminar 1/14 & 1/21 was an alert to the Proactive Profits~How to strategize, plan & take action for a profitable 2009 tele-training, which was offered by Jane Deuber of Profit Partners.

I did take advantage of Part 1 and sat in on this tele-training. I felt is was an hour spent wisely. Truthfully, I had heard many of the things she spoke about, but she had a different approach to explaining things, which gave you a renewed feeling of inspiration and/or motivation. I think we all could use that reinforcement now and then.

Ms. Deuber offered something that she presented in a much different way than I was used to. She spoke about the 4 Realms of Business Success: Vision, Mindset, Strategy and Action. These four parts flow into one another. If one section is off…meaning out of balance or you being stuck and not moving forward, non of the other 3 parts will function properly. Within each of these four parts are sub-divisions

Vision: Dreams, Passions, Purpose, Inspiration, Contribution

Mindset: Beliefs, values, Inner Dialogue, Language, Emotion

Strategy: Planning, Skills & Knowledge, Scheduling, Tools, Alignment

Action: Accountability, Effort, Assessment, Correction, Daily Habits

Examples:

Say you started with Vision…If you are not sincere in your dreams, passions, purpose, inspiration or contribution…how could you move on to Mindset, Strategy or Action? How can you succeed? Or move forward? If you absolutely do not believe in your dreams, passions, purpose, inspiration or contributions, you will not have the motivation or willingness to accomplish any of your goals . Isn’t that why so many people loose interest in something? They just don’t have the passion to continue…it fades into nothing and then they wonder….what happened?

Ok… take Strategy…you already feel you have the ‘vision’ and the mindset and you continue onto Strategy. You think you have that down, but then you’re feeling stuck…things in your business aren’t where you want them to be. You’re not sure what tools can help you. You did not believe in or write down your Plan. Because the Realm of Strategy is off balance, you can’t move forward to take “action”.

I think this is a great tool not only for business, but in our personal life too. Whatever it is we want to be successful in….business, goals, breaking habits, relationships and so on. To be successful, we must give 100% in each of these 4 Realms, which includes each subdivision.

I personally am going to write these 4 Realms (including sub-divisions) within a circle, cut it out and place it where I can see it at least once a day. It can be a daily reminder and also encouragement to make the best of each day and motivate to complete each part successfully. To have one, you must have the other… to move forward and be successful, you ‘need’ the other realms. All 4 must be in balance.

I am not sure if you can still register for Part 2 of this tele-seminar. You may want to check it out, by going HERE

Part 2 of this tele-seminar will include:

· What two elements you absolutely must have in place to thrive in 2009
· The four stages of business growth and why they are essential to your success
· Where to invest your time and resources for the greatest return
· Three low-cost strategies that every business owner should harness
· The top three mistakes business owners make when executing their plan

I will have access to the recordings of these two tele-seminars. If anyone is interested, please contact me at: andrea@acassociatesusa.com and I will give you the link. I do believe this is time spent wisely if you allow yourself the opportunity.

Remember, these same tactics can be used in all areas of your life., so if you’re thinking it’s of no use to you because you do not have your own business…you’re wrong.

Making New Year Resolutions

The New Year is just about here. This is a time when we reflect on the past year and look forward to the new year. I for one am definitely looking forward to 2009. I had my speed bumps of life this past year with health issues, but going through all I did, has brought many life lessons and also positive things that I wouldn’t change for anything. I guess you need to go through things to learn, grow and change; whether negative or positive.

New Year’s Eve is a night when so many people make resolutions or promises to themselves. Are you one of many making New Year resolutions and believe they will keep them? But then do you realize that throughout the year, you didn’t really keep the resolutions at all. I used to make a few resolutions myself, but always had trouble keeping them. Now I set goals that are more reachable for myself. I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment or failure, so if I have a bigger goal I’d like to succeed at, I break it down into parts.

Setting our expectations too high, can make us fall short sometimes. We get caught up in the moment, announce our resolution before realizing we’ve built up this goal in our mind. Our excitement about making a change or a chance at bettering ourselves is great for the moment, but what about in the long term? Will we still feel as excited as the day we made our resolution?

That’s where I fall short at times. I get caught up in the moment and then months pass and I am less enthused about the resolution or change I wanted to make. I now break down my goals into smaller parts and think about the change I want to make on a daily basis. This helps keep things in perspective for me. You can say, ‘the smaller picture, brings the bigger picture into focus’ and I stay interested.

I also use affirmations to help keep me on track with my resolutions. Affirmations provide me with support and a positive ‘feel good’ optimism that often feels like a pat on the back….the ‘I can do it’ feeling.

Here’s an affirmation from Hope Cramer that I found at About.com. It’s a great reminder and one to repeat to yourself.

“New Beginnings are like forks in a road or new blades of grass. So many ways our lives can go…so many choices. Each choice and each piece of our lives make up a part of who we are. I affirm that this is a beautiful new year, a new day, full of amazing ways in which I will improve my life now”

Start each new day or end each night by reading Affirmations.

Being Thankful on Thanksgiving

Today as we celebrate Thanksgiving with our families and friends, will you truly take time out to reflect on what you are thankful for?

I have been doing that quite often this year. Pretty much on a daily basis...being thankful. For my health, for my life, for all I have, my family and friends, the opportunities that come my way and the love that surrounds me.

Abundance can be brought into your life if you declare to the universe that you are thankful. This can easily be done on a daily basis. I find that I'm in a better mood when I take time to appreciate something that makes me happy and be thankful for it. My heart seems to fill with happiness...

What are you thankful for?

I think many, many people take for granted what they have in their life. Maybe focusing only on the negatives...the problems, the stresses, the little things that may annoy or aggravate you. We might forget what we have and appreciate them.

Count your blessings. Take a moment each day and be thankful for something in your life. As you're driving in your car or sitting quietly by yourself, even while watching TV... just take a minute and be thankful.

As you see something that excites you or makes you feel good, as you smell food cooking, drive to work, come home to family, enjoying the company of friends or even your pet, your many possessions, your health and so on...be thankful!

Some people are not blessed as you and I are. Many have worse problems or live in worse conditions and/or simply do not have all that we have.

Take a break during your day...starting today...and be thankful and count your blessings...ask the universe for more of what makes you happy. Be positive and say...I like this...bring more more!

May you all enjoy your Thanksgiving. Many blessings to you all

You can improve your mind, body and soul... Improve your Health...Be More Motivated...Be More Productive...Achieve More Success...Have Unlimited and Boundless Energy...Improve your Self-Esteem

A habit is an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.

What is a Positive Habit?
A positive habit is simply a habit that produces positive benefits, actions and attitudes you want to acquire and make a part of your life. Why is there such great power in positive habits to effect change? Because habits, by their very nature, are automatic. After a period of time they can become permanent.

How To Battle Clutter

Now with the holidays right around the corner, I want to get my house clean and clutter free. I usually put some of my home decor away to make room for Christmas decorations. If I didn't, it would be clutter overload. I have company all throughout the month of December, so I like everything to be clean and orderly.

I am the type of person that believes everything has a place. I don't have clutter in every room, but I will admit to paperwork sometimes taking over a spot on the counter or on a chair and my biggest problem with clutter is in my closet.

I was watching a show that contained some tips on removing clutter. Although removing clutter isn't associated with cleaning. Clutter needs to be put away, thrown out or donated.

Often people have clutter in their living spaces because of emotional attached to items. I for one have some trouble removing clothes or shoes from my closet. I'm always thinking...I'll wear that one day.

A few tips to help with your closet clutter are:

1. Hang all 'like' clothes together. All long sleeved/short sleeved, Black shirts, white shirts, black pants etc...This will help you from buying duplicate items in colors you already have.

2. How to hang our clothes in the closet:
Hang all hangers one way. As you wear an item, turn the hanger the opposite way. When you return the item to the closet, keep the hanger hanging in the opposite direction of all the others. Let 6 - 12 months go by. What ever hangers you have facing the 'other' way, remove that item because if you didn't wear that item for 6-12 months, it is likely you never will. Then decide to throw away or donate.

3. If you already know you haven't worn an article of clothing or pair of shoes in the last 12 months, decide to throw away or donate.

Other Clutter tips:

* Keep flat surfaces clear. Have an inbox for your paperwork, mail and bills. Sort through on a daily basis. Throw out junk mail immediately

* Get three boxes and mark them: Donate, Throw Away and Keep. You could also add a forth box marked Sell if you plan on having a garage sale.
Commit to 10-15 minutes each day and take one room at a time. Approach your clutter and decide in which box each item belongs.

* Have Kitchen cabinet clutter? You'll be amazed what you can accomplish in 10 or 15 minutes. Each day, take one cabinet at a time . Don't overwhelm yourself. This process may take several days to complete, but you will feel so good once this task is done.

* Ladies...clutter in the bathroom? Thrown out immediately used, broken or old cosmetics.

* After reading a magazine or newspaper, immediately put in the recycle bin

* Find a 'home' for everything and commit to a clutter free space

Have a clutter tip? Please leave your comment to help others by sharing your ideas and helpful tips.

DREAMS ARE FREE

The beginning of your success lies in your imagination.
Visualize all of the things that you want in your life.
Make your mental blueprint and then begin construction.

You can make your dreams work and produce for you.
Make every thought, every fact, that comes into your mind
pay you a dividend.

Your imagination will show you how to turn possibility into reality.
The will to succeed springs from the knowledge that you can succeed.

Think of things not as they are, but as they might be.
Don't merely dream, create.

Do this, and you can live your dreams.

PositiveThoughts

Reading positive thoughts on a daily basis can be a reminder to keep a positive attitude. Reading positive thoughts can also change your mood.

Here are some positive thoughts to start your week:

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

A sharp tongue can cut your own throat.

If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep.

Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.

The best vitamin for making friends..... B1.

The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge.

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself.

If you lack the courage to start, you have already finished.

One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.

Ideas won't work unless You do.

Your mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open.

The 10 commandments are not a multiple choice.

The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime! It is never too late to become what you might have been.

A Smile For You

This morning when I was out doing some errands, I returned home with a feeling of contentment. I'm not sure what came over me, but all of a sudden I felt comfort. Maybe it was the smell of fall in the air... the leaves on the ground gave off a warm, sweet scent. It even brought back a memory of childhood when my father and I would rack all the leaves in a pile. He'd then give me that smile...the one I understood...it was okay for me to jump in the pile of leaves.

Have you ever just felt a sudden feeling that everything in your world is going the way it should, feeling contentment and comforted? If so, was there a memory attached to this feeling?

I pass along a smile to you
God's way of saying "SMILE"...

Building Self Confidence ~ Conclusion

Lack of self-confidence can be made up of several different aspects like: guilt, anger, unrealistic ideas of perfection, false sense of humility, fear of change or making mistakes, depression and so on.

We are all capable of transforming ourselves by increasing the good qualities and eliminating the negative ones. Do not talk yourself into thinking you cannot reach the goals you have been dreaming about. You need to move forward. Anytime you accomplish a goal, however small or large, you get a good feeling. No one can take that feeling away. That good feeling is personal achievement and not only will it help build your self confidence, it will help you to continue to accomplish what you set out to do.

While you are building up your self confidence, don't fall into the below negatives:

Don't get wrapped up in your mistakes and dwell on bad points; they can contrast your good points or even give you something to improve. There's no feeling like being good at something you were really bad at.

Don't confuse what you have with who you are. People degrade their self worth when comparing possessions.

Surround yourself with nurturing friends, not overly critical individuals who make you feel inadequate or insecure. This could do great harm and damage to your self confidence.

Do not try to become confident in the interest of finding a partner. You will regret creating a false personality as the relationship goes along.

It's good to have a lot of confidence, but don't build it up so much that you get egotistical and annoying.

Lack of confidence is not necessarily a curse! So do not worry. Many ignorant, fanatic and maniac people are confident but is that desirable? No. Building self confidence should be associated with simultaneous growth from within. Thus by overcoming pettiness and superficiality you can build unshakable self confidence.

YOU'LL FIND TRUE JOY USING YOUR POTENTIAL

Your greatest success and happiness in life
will be found when you use your natural abilities
to their fullest extent.

Happiness is not in having or being, it's in the doing
The essence of true wisdom is to know that rest is rust,
and that real life is activity, laughter and love.

You were created to conquer your environment,
to solve problems and to achieve goals.
You'll find no real satisfaction or happiness in life
without obstacles to conquer and goals to achieve.

Yes, there is true happiness.
It's found in doing a job well done, in achieving a worthy goal,
in putting your child to sleep and in writing the last line of your poem.

Your personal growth itself contains the seed of happiness.

FEAR IS OVERCOME WITH ACTION

One of the greatest surprises you'll experience,
is when you discover that you can do
what you were afraid you couldn't do.

Your obstacles will melt away,
if instead of cowering before them,
you make up your mind to walk boldly through them.

Do the thing you fear and fear disappears.
Confront your fears, list them, get to know them
and only then will you be able to put them aside
and move ahead.

When you face the things that scare you,
you open the door to freedom.

The only thing you have to fear, is fear itself..

Are You Afraid To Take Risks?

So the other day, after some thought, decided to take action regarding a situation in my life. A risk? yes, but if I didn't take action, how would I ever know if the outcome would be positive...how would I ever know if the outcome would be the one I wanted?

When deciding to take a risk, you have a 50-50 chance of the outcome turning out the way you want. Is it worth it? YES, I believe so. Fear shouldn't hold you back. There are many factors when taking a risk that people think about and may keep them from actually moving forward with their action.

Are you afraid of exposing your true self? Fear of being rejected? Fear of failure? Fear not being loved in return? Lack belief in yourself or others? Want to avoid conflict? More comfortable playing it safe? Afraid of looking like a fool?

But risk must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. If a person risks nothing,,,has nothing. If you avoid taking a chance or risk because you are afraid of suffering and sorrow, you simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love.

Change happens when taking a risk. I did think about this when I moved forward with my action. You have to be willing to accept change because whatever happens...whether positive or negative, it will involve change.

Do you take risks? If you have trouble moving forward...ask yourself these questions as I did...

What is keeping me from solving this problem?

How do I feel about choosing an action with an outcome that I am uncertain of?

What is the worst possible thing that could happen if I did or did not take action?

What are the possible consequences of not taking the risks necessary?

My answers to those questions, helped me move forward and I am very happy and satisfied that I did. Although I do not know the outcome yet...I know it was worth it.

What also helped me is the fact that I believe in taking a chance...you never know if you don't and living with regret is something I try not to do. I have taken many chances in the past and my successes outweigh the failures, so I kept that in mind also.

For All The Beautiful Women

...and that means you and me.

DID YOU KNOW?

There are 3 billion women who don't look like super models ?

And only eight who do.

Did you know Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14?

If Barbie was a real woman, she'd have to walk on all FOURS due to her proportions!

The average woman weighs 144 pounds, and wears between a size 12-14.

One out of every 4 college-aged women has an eating disorder.

The Models in the magazines are AIRBRUSHED!!! - NOT Perfect!!

A psychological study in 1995 found that 3 minutes spent looking at a Fashion Magazine caused 70% of women to feel depressed , guilty and SHAMEFUL!

Models 20 years ago weighed 8% Less than the average Woman.
Today they weigh 23% less...

~*~ Beauty of a Woman ~*~
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman
With time, only grows...

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO LIVE YOUR DREAMS

The day you take complete responsibility for yourself,
the day you stop making any excuses,
that's the day you start moving down the road to success.

No one else can do it for you.
Only you can make it happen.
You're the only one that has to live your life.

Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility.
It's up to you to choose the thoughts and actions
that will lead you to success.

Your life will be what you make of it.
Nothing will ever happen by itself.
Success will come your way once you realize
that you have to make it come your way by your own actions.

The power to succeed is yours alone.
