Montel Fired for Speaking The Truth...

Last night I was informed by one of my friends Suz, that Montel Williams is going off the air. She knows how much I like him, his show, his views. Having met him twice only confirmed why I feel the way I do.

He will tell you anything if you ask. He speaks the truth whether you agree or not. He is a straight, no nonsense kind of man and very intelligent.

His accomplishments: Did you know?

* Served in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1974
* Received a presidential appointment to the United States Naval Academy
* Holds a degree in General Engineering and a minor in International Security Affairs
* Was selected as special duty intelligence officer, specializing in cryptology
* Received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two Navy Expeditionary Medals, two Humanitarian Service Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals and two Meritorious Service Awards
* Published six books to date
* Received three Outstanding Talk Show Host emmy awards
* Has arranged for hundreds of people to attend psychological counseling sessions, weight-loss and eating disorder programs, and drug rehabilitation centers after they appear on the show.
* Inspired the show’s After-Care Program, which began in 1992
* Has become the national spokesman for The Partnership for Prescription Assistance
* He established The Montel Williams MS Foundation in 2000 to further the scientific study of MS, provide financial assistance to select organizations and institutions conducting research, raise national awareness, and educate the public. In a short time, the organization has reached several milestones. It has granted over $1 million dollars to research

One of Mr. Williams' key beliefs is that "success is determined by what you give back to others," which is why he has worked actively with a variety of charitable organizations throughout the years.

And now I am very pissed off that he has been fired because he spoke the truth...he told it like it is. For just over three minutes on Saturday morning, TV talk show host Montel Williams owned the hosts of Fox and Friends. Montel lectured the stunned hosts on the stupidity of spending air time on the death of Heath Ledger, rather than covering the war in Iraq. He expressed sorrow for Heath and his family but... It was a spectacle rarely seen on live cable television, as Montel exposed and condemned both tabloid "news" shows and much of American culture for what they have each become: shallow and greedy.
Three minutes into this awkward segment on Fox, one host cut off Montel in order to go to a commercial. Montel did not return after the break. Four days later, after 17 years as a television host, Montel lost his job.

Hmmm...freedom of speech? Nope, not for Montel.

Watch the video and tell me what you think: Do you agree or Disagree that he should have been fired?

Write to FOX if you disagree: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,77538,00.html
FOX, CNN, NBC, CBS and the rest of the MAIN STREAM media no longer provide us NEWS.....just contrived entertainment and distractions.

I believe this country is so backwards and we have so many issues in this country that are not being dealt with.

LIVE.LEARN.LOVE

A young 22 year old man named Chance Craven has spent the last three years being there for others while being a member of myspace. Whether their time in need was due to a break up, having family issues or just encountering struggles in their life, he has provided support, an ear and reassurance of friendship.

Why you ask? He has a lot of love to give. His heart is wide open and wants to help others. His lesson learned was that he truly loves helping other people and wants to dedicate his life to spreading the love.

He has started a non profit organization called...itsChance focusing on the definition of 'chance' and everyone having one. A community devoted to helping feed the homeless, working with the elderly and children.

Below are words of wisdom I received in an email from Chance.

LIVE.LEARN.LOVE

1) Simply LIVE your live. Don't hesitate to do something today. Don't wait to tell someone you love them or wait to resolve conflict tomorrow. Live to the fullest and strive to be your best today!

2) Whether it's a good or bad day...LEARN from it. Realize that everyone makes mistakes and the only way to overcome the past, is focus on the future. Learning what works and what doesn't. Everything happens for a reason...make the best of it!

3) Choose to LOVE. The world is already full of so much hatred...choose to Love someone and show them you care. Show someone what true love is through your everyday actions. After all...actions speak louder than words.

Take a chance, choose to make a difference! Drop by his site and if you are in his area, why not donate some time to help others?

KUDOS CHANCE! and I wish you the very best. Many Blessings~

What Are Binaural Beats?

I first learned about Binaural beats after looking for a way to help my mom get to sleep and stay asleep. She complains almost everyday about having problems. Of course the doctor prescribed pills, but that isn't the way to go.

According to Wikipedia:

Binaural beats or binaural tones are auditory processing artifacts, that is apparent sounds, the perception of which arises in the brain independent of physical stimuli. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove. Binaural beats may influence the brain in more subtle ways through the entrainment of brainwaves and can be used to produce relaxation and other health benefits.

The easiest way to stimulate the brain is via the ears. Hearing these beats in different frequencies in both left and right ear do not mix together and are not processed until in the brain. So these binaural beats in generated sounds can alter your brainwaves

After reading up on this, it intrigued me to see what actual benefits can be had from altering your state of mind using these 'beat' recordings. Brainwave entrainment is used in the treatment of depression, low self-esteem, attention deficit disorder, drug and alcohol addiction, autism, alleviating headaches and migraines, insomnia to name some. And then some additional benefits include: good moods, feelings of euphoria, inner peace, total relaxation, clarity. So, by slipping on the headphones and letting the beats work the brain, you can sit back and reap the benefits.

Sound to good to be true? I don't know. I ordered two CD's. One total relaxation CD for my mom and The Digitial Drug CD for myself. We'll see when they arrive how true this all is. I'll keep you updated. I'm hoping this does exactly what is claims. I already know which CD I want next. The Power Siesta, which allows you to achieve a deep sleep in a half hour, but your body thinks it's been sleeping for 3 hours. hmmmm, after a late night, or interrupted sleep, this is something I could use.

Has anyone used these binaural beats?

Do Parents Need a License?

I was recalling a past experience when I worked for a couple with two children (aged 3 months/5 yrs). It seems this professional couple was not equipped, mentally or physically to care for their children. They employed a live in nanny and also needed an extra pair of hands in the evenings to provide the care necessary.

Customers of the auto dealership I was working at the time, they took a liking to me. The Mrs. practically begged me to help her out with the kids in the evenings. Thinking what the heck, I agreed. I guess I felt bad that this couple, although professional career oriented people did not have the life skills or the parental instinct to care for their children.

Either they were never home or just did not know how to do things. Simple things… like get dinner ready, go food shopping, dress the kids, bath the kids, help with their homework and wash clothes. I never saw them discipline or teach the kids any life lessons. It was not because they didn’t have the time. They purposely had other people in their home, so they didn’t have to be. There were no hugs, no I love you’s,no touching. No quality. It was all rather cold.

The nanny and I became close friends. Actually she was like the sister I never had. We worked together for several years. The environment I observed was not one I considered healthy for the kids, but I didn’t want to quit this ‘job’ for the children’s sake. We were providing the nurturing they needed. Eventually I did leave because it started to interfere with my life. The kids are now 14 and 8. We are all still in contact, but unfortunately the atmosphere they are still living in has not improved. This is now reflected in their behaviors.

I always pondered why some women just don’t have that motherly instinct. Or a father doesn't know how to be a Dad. How some people just don’t have life skills ?

Is this something we are taught or something we are just born with?

Now, don't get me wrong. I am totally for parents making the decision to work outside the home and having day care. If you can afford a nanny for your children...go for it. I was a single mother, so I know.

But, it does amaze me when I see people with children who clearly do not want them or do not have the life skills to care for them, nor process any parental instinct. Did they just live the life they thought they should? Their goal being to get married and have kids. It seems to me that the children are the ones who suffer.

It seems we all need a license for something. To drive, to operate a business, to get married, to perform services such as manicures, a hairdresser, electrician, plumber etc…

The most important and hardest job we can have is to be a parent. Maybe we should all be required to obtain a license before having children…

Health Begins in the Colon

I've mentioned in the past that my son has Crohn's Disease. For those who do not know what this is, Crohn's is a chronic, episodic, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects the entire wall of the bowel or intestines.

He had experienced remission for 7 years until a flare up occurred 2 years ago. He has been trying an holistic approach. Proper diet, Ridding his body of toxins ,Maintaining a slightly alkaline pH state
drinking a lot of fluids and exercise.

Colon Cleansing has become one of the most popular therapies recommended by natural health practitioners. 50% of the immune system is located in or near the digestive system, by the large intestine. If the colon is not cleansed and the toxins removed, your digestion will not process properly so the nutrients are not absorbed correctly. Symptoms of poor digestion can be: constipation, gas, bloating, IBS, headaches, bad breath, allergy symptoms, PMS, fatigue, depression, irritability, frequent infections and weight gain.

Colon Cleansing removes hardened fecal matter, toxic materials and parasites from the colon. Oxy-Powder is an Oxygen Colon Cleanser made from the production of oxygen within the digestive tract. It works slowly over a 12 to 18 hour period, which means you can carry out your daily routine without any problems.

Health truly begins with your colon. Toxins can lead or cause other health ailments. Once your colon is cleansed, you will start the healing process and nutrients can be absorbed properly. You are instantly changing the conditions in your body.

I've learned this product is top rated and safe. Some people experience weight loss when cleansing their colon due to the amount of build up of toxins (waste) in the intestinal tract.

To learn more about this product, such as clinical studies, instructions, ingredients and articles, please go to http://www.oxypowder.com/ for more information.

Winter Weary

The weather here yesterday was gloomy...clouds and cold. I didn't feel like doing to much of anything.

Now today it is just COLD....brrrrrrr. What little sun we had, is now disappearing. I really don't like winter. Seems I have less energy, sleep a little bit more than usual and don't feel like going out.

Could it be I'm experiencing SAD? For those who don't know what that is... it means Seasonal Affective Disorder. People suffer from depression between September to April due to the reduction in sunlight hours in fall and winter. That can zap your energy level and emotional well-being.

Some people experience the following symptoms:
Changes in appetite and a craving for sweets or carbs
Difficulty sleeping or sleeping more than usual
Difficulty in concentrating
Weight gain
Fatigue or a decrease in energy
Irritability
Avoidance of social situations

Hmmmmm...based on those, I guess I have SAD, but being in the midst of perimenopause, who knows. Feels like the same symptoms to me...

It's been said that if you are experiencing SAD, you could use "light therapy". This provides you with exposure to bright artificial light, but mimics the sun. Spending an hour each day outside can also produce beneficial results.

I have seen these sun mimicking light bulbs at Home Depot. Until now, I never thought of buying them...

Do you feel a change once winter arrives? I know when the warmer months are here, I do feel more alive, have more energy and much more motivated. When it stays lighter later, it just makes me feel good.

Maybe there is something to this SAD .....

For All the Singles

A young co-worker of mine was telling me about a date he was planning for last night. A rather shy guy, I wondered where he met his date. He confided in me that he is a member of an online dating service.

It didn't surprise me. You hear so many people are looking for serious relationships or just Dating, activity partners and friends via the Internet these days. Of course some are weary of the dangers that can lurk, but I think if you are responsible and careful, the Internet is a great way to meet people.

It's not like your knight in shining Armour is going to be knocking on your door or your princess will arrive and say...I'm here!. You have to get out there, make a presence to be seen, right? If your friends are all married or in relationships, it's hard to go out and meet people alone. I know I hate going out by myself.

Online dating services are providing a way to do just that. Meet people. I know some poke fun and look down at others because they are choosing this avenue to meet people. I say...don't listen. My uncle married a woman he met online, a friends brother married his match and I've heard of other success stories as well.

The problem is there are so many sites to chose from. How do you know which site to join?

To help you decide on which service is best for you and accommodate your needs,Prime Dating Sites is a resource that will provide you with a full review of all the online dating services out there. After reading the review, you'll have a better understanding of what their site offers, key features and costs. This way you won't be wasting your time by completing a profile and then realize that service isn't for you.

Have fun and meet the man (or woman) of your dreams!

So, I'm Not Perfect...

Ok, so I'm not perfect. I allowed some stress to wiggle into my life. A situation came into my life and gave me an unexpected ending, which I wasn't prepared for. I had to work through a few emotions before concluding I have choices...first on how to handle this situation and second... how to deal with what I was feeling.

Although justified, I felt angry with the outcome of this situation. I realized quickly that wasn't the answer. I needed to get myself 'in check'. If I continued to be angry, I wouldn't be productive. I took a deep breath and just said to myself...I will get through this.

But as I allowed stress to enter, I took a short ride with negativity. It's amazing how those little inner voices sometimes can cause an avalanche of scenarios in your mind and you start believing them. So... realizing this quicker than usual, I just put a stop to it.

I thought about a happy memory or the feelings of love, thought about all the good and blessings in my life...took to the couch, lit some candles and just relaxed. Repeated some affirmations...Relaxing my body and soul.

It does work...I now have calmness. Whatever happens....I will deal with it and get through it. It's not the end of the world...I am a good person, have my health, my family and friends. This ding in my life will be dealt with. It's not the end of the world.

I certainly have grown this past year. I remember a time that I would have held on to those negative emotions for days and have it hinder me. Affecting not only me, but the people around me. I truly can feel a difference within myself. Now I can remove negativity faster and talk my inner self out of self doubt, replacing it with a positive attitude.

How do you deal with stress and any negativity that creeps in?

SeviceGuy to the Rescue

How many times have you needed a service repair man or wanted work done in your home and all you received was an answering machine? Then you waited and waited for someone to call you back, which never happened.

It is so frustrating for me to need a repair or anxious to have something done in my home and have that scenario happen. I don't want to email someone, I don't want to leave a message and wait for a return call, I want immediate gratification by talking to someone and moving forward with what I need done. Our time is valuable. You don't want to waste it by waiting for a return call or call number after number until you reach someone. I don't know about you, but I hate leaving messages or getting those annoying automated messaging machines...press 1, then press 2 etc etc

ServiceGuy to the Rescue. I found this free referral network that connects you immediately to the service provider you need. You call the ServiceGuy number in your area, select the service you need and then your call to directly connected. Immediate gratification.

If you need services in the following areas, you can find them at Service Guy:
cleaning, computer, design, electrical, handyman, landscaper, moving, painter, plumber, pool, realtor

The Free Disease

Do you have the ‘free’ disease? This really isn't about a disease, but just an interesting observation I have made over time.

I notice that on many occasions at work, people bring in food or other items and leave them in the kitchen area for anyone interested. These free items don't last long. Maybe a half hour at most.

What strikes me funny is when food is left in the kitchen right before people are returning from eating lunch. They see this ‘free’ food and they must take as much as possible. AND, mind you this is after they just ate!

Why is it that when we see something “for free”, we must have it. Whether we need or want it, it must be ours?! haha

Have you ever been guilty of seeing something for free at the curb or even a garage sale and had to have it? I have been in a car with someone and upon seeing a free item, they turned to me and said, I'm going to take that. Why, I asked...do you need it? No...but it's free, I'll find someplace to put it.

I realize someones garbage is someone else's treasure, but does that have to include anything and everything that is "free" ? and people wonder why they have clutter around...

There are even people that sign up for anything and everything or receive any free offers that pass their eyes.

The program or information might not even be something they are truly interested in, but feel compelled to receive it or be a member.

Are they afraid they'll miss out on something?

Just an observation...

Do You Dress According to Your Mood?

It never occurred to me until today that I am a mood dresser. Are you? Do you dress, wearing colors that match your mood?

I have to admit to wearing black and white a lot. I just like the way the colors look together, but I realize that I really pick colors depending on my mood.

Today feeling content and happy, I chose blue. It happens to be my favorite color, but wearing blue does make me feel calm and peaceful. Like my old, worn out favorite pair of jeans, the easy feeling I get looking at the sky, or the serene feeling of Caribbean blue waters. ahhhhh....

If I have a meeting to attend, I feel more confidant and secure wearing black or gray pants with maybe a white or red top. I know if I want the meeting to go well, I have to feel comfortable. It's not the time to wear a new outfit or one I'm not so sure about.

How many of us have that one outfit we feel the best in? The one we wear out when we know we look good?
I know I do...

Here's some color decoders...

1.) Wearing Blue - Serenity and Calm
2.) Wearing Gray or Black - Invisibility and Blending In
3.) Wearing Green - Nurturing and Earthy
4.) Wearing Orange - Energetic and Creative
5.) Wearing Pink - Open Heart and conveys compassion
6.) Wearing Purple - Unique and Special, you want to be noticed
7.) Wearing Red - Powerful and Confident
8.) Wearing White - Fresh Outlook - New Beginnings
9.) Wearing Yellow - Cheerful and Happy

Why Does God Allow Pain and Suffering?

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Old Fashioned Tricks

Here's some old fashioned tricks to use around the house. I thought I'd share since I've used alot of these and they work.

If you have any other time saving tips or tricks from grandma, please share and leave a comment.

1. Reheating Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove, set
heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy microwave pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.
I like the toaster oven as well. Just like the delivery guy bringing you a fresh one.)

2. Easy Deviled Eggs
Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all
broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

3. Expanding Cake Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.

4. Reheating refrigerated bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place
them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

5. Newspaper weeds away
When it's time to start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil.
Wet some newspaper and put layers around the plants, overlapping as you go. Cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic, but they will not get through wet newspapers.

6. Broken Glass
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass you can't see easily.

7. No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.

8. Squirrel Away
To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle your plants with
cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.

9. Flexible vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

10. Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a
clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and * ta da! -- static is gone.

11. Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with hot
water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry cup interior, add your
ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

12. Foggy Windshield?
Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!

13. Reopening envelopes
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside , just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two.
Viola! It unseals easily

14. Hair Conditioner
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair...

15. Goodbye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass and fill it 1/2" way with
Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever.

16. Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it
'home', can't digest it, so it kills them. It may take a week or so,
especially if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

Shampoo On The Go

Ok ladies....(and men) here's a product I couldn't wait to write about. I have actually used this myself and it really works!

I shampoo my hair every morning before going to work. Last week, I must have hit my snooze button on the alarm more than 4 times. Of course, I ended up waking more than a half hour late and didn't have time to wash and dry my hair (my hair is past the middle of my back, so it takes some time to wash & dry).
Now my morning routine was thrown off and I felt off kilter. I didn't want to be very late for work, so I got out my dry shampoo. That's right...spray powder shampoo.

I was thrilled when this product first came out. As a kid, I remember my mother freshening up my long hair with baby powder to get rid of the oil between shampoos. Well, here's the redefined version, but it's actually shampoo.

If you don't have time to wash your hair or for use in between shampoos, this is the product you need. It even comes in shades to match the color of your hair: brunettes, silver, blonde and black.

My guy and I are planning a weekend get a way next month and this dry shampoo will be coming with me. Less to pack. No more carrying a bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Anytime I find myself on an overnight stay, whether it's for work or pleasure, this product is the first thing I pack. This also saves me time if I need to get ready a little faster than normal.

How To Look Good Naked

Has anyone watched the new show on Lifetime TV, ‘How to Look Good Naked’? Ladies, if you are able to view Lifetime TV in your area, I suggest watching this show.

I was impressed with how Carson (the host) gives women confidence, overcome insecurities and allows a woman to see the distorted perceptions we have of our own body.

Carson has one women (the make over woman) go through 5 steps.

Step one: The dreaded full length, tri mirror. She’s dressed in only undergarments. UGH! We all hate the mirrors, but in this process, Carson gives you a reality check. We may not be perfect, but we are beautiful. We have to love what we have and who we are.

He then shows a huge picture of this make over woman, plastered on the side of a building wall, on a busy main street. Asking the people passing by how this woman looks. All comments were complimentary…nice arms, legs, breasts…etc….However, even after hearing these comments, this woman still insisted she was ‘fat’, still only saw the imperfections. She didn’t accept compliments very well.

He also had 5 woman dressed in undergarments in a line up. Their size ranged from small to large. He asked the make over woman to place herself between the two women she felt she matched closer in hip/size dimensions. She placed herself at the end between the two woman considered larger. It turned out; she was actually sized after the first woman in the line…much smaller. Our perceptions really do play an important role in how we view ourselves.

Step Two: The procedure in picking the correct undergarments. I was amazed the difference in appearance this can make. The stat revealed that 95% of women are not wearing the correct undergarment. Wow…

Step Three: Correctly picking the appropriate clothing to accent what we have. How this can show confidence is an eye opener! There were 3 pictures of 3 women wearing 3 different styles of clothing from the neck down. He asked his “make over girl” to look at the pictures and describe each woman. She was asked based on the clothing, which woman weighed less to more. The make over woman has decided the one in this black dress looked confidant and weighed less than the other 2 women in the pictures. Well, In the end, it is revealed to you that the 3 pictures are all of the same woman. This floored me the most.

Carson then takes his makeover woman on a shopping spree. As she is being dressed in the appropriate clothes, you can actually see this woman’s attitude change; she held her head higher, smiled more, held her posture more erect. The tips you hear are something we all can learn from.

Step Four: The make over woman gets just that. New hair style which does make a difference, she is pampered and she feels beautiful. How many of us forget or make the time to pamper ourselves. Ladies: I know I will now set time aside for ME and pamper myself. It really does make you feel better.

Step Five: After all these steps, Carson had this woman pose naked. This woman was a changed woman. Confidence, self assured, beautiful, loved herself and everything she has. No more perceptions. It was wonderful! Seeing her in those pictures, one might think that wasn’t the same woman at the beginning of the show. Carson again plastered a huge picture of the woman (now naked) on the side of the building. She was hearing comments like…she’s hot.

I hope more woman watch this show. I commend Lifetime for having another show directly geared toward helping woman love themselves, imperfections and all.

Even though this make over woman had experienced help by Carson, it allows you to see each step. You can take the information, tips and examples to widen your eyes to how you perceive yourself, how to gain confidence and how to love yourself.

Great show and looking forward to Friday to learn and see more.

Some Humor For Wednesday

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)
I know I'm not going to understand women.
I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,
pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root,
and still be afraid of a spider.

WOMEN'S REVENGE
"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.
"No," she replied, " but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally."

CIGARETTES AND TAMPON
A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles.
The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.
He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife.
She directs him down the correct aisle.
A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter.
She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife?
He answers, " You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo much cheaper.
So, I figure if I have to roll my own .......... so does she.

WIFE VS. HUSBAND
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.
An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position.
As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?"
"Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

and my favorite...

The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each
other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,
he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and
see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by
the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

Do You Think...What's In It For Me?

Today was a good day. One of those days where things just came together.

I wrote a post months ago, titled Pay it Forward. I asked if anyone can or does a good deed without getting anything in return. Doing something because you really wanted to. So many people look out only for themselves. They aren't interested in doing a favor or helping someone without thinking, "what's in it for me".

Today I had a meeting and had to park in a lot which charged by the hour. Not knowing how long I would be, I paid at the automatic machine for 4 hours.
You enter the parking space number, slide your debit or credit card through the slot and grab your receipt.

Well, my meeting went smoothly. In fact, it lasted for only half hour. Walking back into the lot, I noticed a woman at the parking machine just about ready to pay. I told her she can have my spot, since I paid for another 3 1/2 hours.

The look on her face was priceless! She said, are you kidding me? No, I said, you can have the spot. She thanked me and we went on our way.

Getting in my car, I realized I did something for someone without thinking about it. Just offered kindness without thinking about getting something in return. Let me tell you it's a great feeling. I couldn't help but smile...

I guess you can say I did get something from this act of kindness. The feeling of happiness... doing something for someone I didn't even know just because I want to. It did make me feel good...can that count as getting something in return?

Act Fast To Get Your Tickets

Have you ever been disappointed when you couldn't get tickets to your favorite sporting event or see your favorite band?

My special friend's daughter wanted to see Hanna Montana so badly. This is an extremely hot ticket I came to find out. Frankly, I wasn't even aware who Hanna Montana was, but I was schooled on her and the show. I felt so out of touch! It seems these tickets are sold so quickly and now we're the ones left feeling disappointed because we couldn't get his daughter the tickets.

I just now came across a site that makes it easy to find tickets for all events right on their site. This saves time in searching. I wish I knew about this sooner. We might have had a chance in locating Hanna Montana tickets for our area.

Save your self the time and disappointment by going to
WeGotYourTickets.com - Sports, Concerts, & Theatre Tickets first before searching through countless other sites.

NFL Fans: I noticed they still have Super Bowl tickets available.

Do You Possess the 8 Qualities?

Yesterday while channel surfing, I came across the Suze Orman show. Do you know who she is? If not, a brief summary: She is known to be a best selling author, magazine and online columnist, writer/producer, and motivational speaker, and recognized as an expert on personal finance.

Her show was geared toward women and introduced the "8 qualities of a wealthy woman". Her message was that to control your destiny it requires reconditioning from the inside.

After reading the 8 qualities, let me know what you think. Fluff or common sense advice?

Quality 1 and 2: Harmony and Balance
Harmony is an agreement in feeling, approach, and sympathy between what you think, feel, say, and do.
Balance is a state of emotional and stability in which you are able to make sound decisions and judgments.

How many times do we think one thing... say another... feel something else...and act in a way that has nothing to do with what we just thought, said, or felt? If our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions are not in harmony, it is an imbalance

Quality 3: Courage
Courage is the ability to face fear. Fear of any situation. In some way you must find the courage to overcome your fear and not let this emotion rule you. Courage to correct imbalance in your life.

Quality 4: Generosity
Generosity is when you give the right thing to the right person at the right time -- and it benefits both of you.
Ms. Orman wants women to realize that we give too easily with our time, support, love and money. If we are giving for the wrong reasons, then it is not true generosity.

Are we giving because we think we should, to be liked, giving out of guilt etc...

Quality 5: Happiness
Defined as a state of well being and contentment. If you find the 'courage' to live your life in 'harmony' and 'balance' and practice true 'generosity'...happiness appears. When happy, we are more optimistic, seeing possibilities. Happiness should be the goal we should strive for in all aspects of our life.

Quality 6: Wisdom
Is the knowledge and experience necessary to make decisions and judgments. Wisdom taps into the core of one's beliefs and has the courage to correct her life if out of balance, knowing to do what is right rather than what is easy. A wise woman knows the true meaning of generosity, knows that happiness is the true reward in life when lived in harmony

Quality 7: Cleanliness
Is about respecting order and organization. Remove the clutter from your life

Quality 8: Beauty
You have beauty when you have the other 7 qualities in your life. She isn't talking about beauty on the outside, but the beauty within each of us.
When you have all these qualities together, you will become a confidant woman. When you are confident, you feel secure... when you feel secure, you have no fear... when you have no fear, you have the courage to say what you think and feel. When you are calm, you make wise decisions with your money, which then allows you to be truly generous to others as well as yourself, which, in turn, makes you a happy, powerful, and beautiful woman.

Do you think all of these qualities together could help you arrive at the goal of being a woman in control of her destiny?

I do think these qualities are what we need to have in all aspects of our life, not just in regard to finances, but everyday living. I suppose they are difficult sometimes to achieve, but if we keep practicing, we will eventually grasp the concept and the goals we are striving for.
