QUALITY OF LIFE BEGINS IN YOUR MIND

It's not what you have, but what you enjoy that constitutes your abundance.
Your real riches are riches in your head and heart.

Wealth without enjoyment is little consolation.
True satisfaction comes from appreciating what you have.

There are two ways of being happy:
you must either diminish your wants or augment your means.

My Wish For You

This week has been such a busy week. I was so prepared for the holidays. I had all my shopping done weeks ago, the house decorated, the presents all wrapped and under the tree, but then just days before Christmas I got a cold and that got me all off track.

I had alot of baking to do and last minute errands, but being sick left me with no energy. Finally feeling a bit better on Monday, I forced myself to cram everything I needed to do in two days.

And now...Christmas has come and gone. All this preparing and rushing...visiting with family and friends. It feels like in a blink...it's over. Do you feel that way too?

I felt bad that I didn't even have time to get online and wish you all a Happy Holiday...

So now My Wish For You is that the warmth of Christmas stays with you long into the New Year and in the words of Rascal Flatts:

I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,

Wisdom From Maya Angelou

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older.
And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting.' Regardin g body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Inspiration From Children

Every once in awhile I receive emails that are touching and have special meaning. To me they're worth sharing.The following email is one. Children bring to us so much if we only listen.

Believe in Fairy Tales

I am a big fan of Grey's Anatomy and if you listen carefully to what the characters say, you might hear something worthwhile.


You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. Its like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And its not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.
